The icon is the link to our new FTDNATiP™ calculator which takes into account our new University of Arizona mutation rate study information. The symbol is also available for non-group comparisons for anyone outside of a surname project that you have a significant match with, who has taken either the 25 or 37 marker high resolution test. This icon will not show up for non-group matches on the 12-marker level.
Please note that identical genetic distances from different mismatched markers will yield somewhat different probabilities to the Most Recent Common Ancestor because each marker has a different mutation rate and for the first time in genetic genealogy these differences have been taken into account.
